Win a Colormix Squid from DMR!!!

Our friends over at DMR just launched a sweet contest where you can win one of only three Colormix Squid Saddles!!! These things look pretty sick. All you have to do to try and win one of these bad boys is send a 60 second (or so) video edit of you riding dirt, street, park or whatever. The key to this contest is originality and creativity. As it say's on the DMR site "Make your entry funny, arty, weird or just downright mind blowingly RAD!." The winning videos will be posted up on DMRTV!!! After you load your edit up to Vimeo or youtube send the url with your name and address to info@dmrbikes.com.

Welcome Severed Alliance

Severed Alliance is a new company out of the UK. They are making some sweet frames and components for 20" and 26" riders. Darren dropped this edit to me of Severed Alliance rider Matt Gillespie absolutely shredding a mini somewhere in Northern Ireland. Check out the latest at http://severedalliance.blogspot.com/

PRODUCT TEST: GEAX Tattoo Light

I got a hold of a pair of the all new Tattoo Light Street/Park tires from GEAX. This tire comes in a regular weight version (26"x2.3=850g) and the Light pair (26"x2.3=590g) As a comparison a Holy roller weighs 865g in a 26"x2.4. In short the GEAX Tattoo is a great tire. The best feature of this tire is it's grip. The Tattoo has a durometer spec of 50a. Thats what a lot of sticky downhill tires measure. So these tires grip to everything!!! On some cement the tires actually sound like tape being unraveled. I mostly rode street on these tires. The tread pattern wraps from bead to bead. Which greatly strengthens the sidewall for street. I did get a flat the first night on these tires. But glass will do that to any tire. Then the skatepark test: The Denver skatepark is pretty legendary for its slippery surface. But the Tattoos stuck amazingly well. I would highly recommend this tire to anyone who's local park is at all slippery. The tattoo's will work!!! I would also recommend the Tattoo to street riders. If you primarily ride street you would probably be better served with the normal weight tires. But you will love this tire. The grippyness of this tire is sick!!! The Tattoo is also available in an all white version. Although only in the regular weight. (I believe) Go order yourself a pair and tell your Local shop to stock them for your friends. Hell Cam Zink rides GEAX why not you??? Later...

Finally a Fox fork made for dirt!

Probably the best fork company ever finallycame with a fork made for dirt; the Fox 831

It will be a very light fork, the weight is only 1.74kg (3.8lbs)!

The 831 will be sold with 100mm suspension, but you can adjust it internally between 80mm and 120mm.

The fork will have an Air Spring, 15mm axle, 32mm legs, lock out, a FIT 4x/DJ dampener, and will be available with a 1-1/8"  and a 1.5" steerer tube

A couple pics of some new rides...

Here is a couple items I spied at Crankworks Colorado. The event was plagued by delays but people were still going off. Send out healing vibes to Alex Pro who broke his femur(!) in the finals.

This is a 2010 Haro Steel Reserve. A pretty nice looking bike. Steel is real...

Not 100% sure what this model is...Anyone out there know? It was hanging out in the Commencal pits. It had Cedric Gracia's logo and name all over it. It was fairly light with an economical spec.

GEAX had a booth and was showing off their tire options. One such option is this all white tire. It has new sidewall graphics coming soon but looked very sweet already. GEAX also had some nice 26" whitewalls. Ryan from GEAX hooked up PlusSizeBMX with some new 26" Tattoo light tires to test out. I am running them now and will post my findings on Thursday. The tire is so sticky that when you roll on concrete it almost sounds like someone is unspooling some duct tape. Very nice indeed!!!
