Monster Energy presents Last Summer Ride

Sunday 12th of September, 10AM. Today is the day of the ‘Last Summer Ride’. Skatepark Sweatshop is ready for the event, the banners are hanging on the walls, hundreds of cans of Monster Energy are already standing there for the thirsty riders, and the prizes are on a safe place waiting to be given away to the winners.
Around 11PM the new indoor skatepark starts to get filled with BMX riders and Freestyle Mountainbikers. Most of the riders have never been at the new skatepark yet and are very stoked on it.
More and more riders are registering themselves for the contest, and around noon there are 50 BMX riders and Freestyle Mountainbikers warming themselves up for the contest.

At 1PM it was time to start the skatepark contest. It started off with the AM BMX Class.
It was a Knock Out Battle: Two riders had 60 seconds to show off their skills in the skatepark, and the best rider went to the next round. The winners of each round had to battle eachother until there were three riders left: RJ Hooijmans, Koen de Laat and Nino Weid.
At the final of this class they had a 3 minute run in which they had to show their best tricks to show the judges who’s the best rider. Nino ended up first with some sick tuck no hander gaps, 360s and some technical lines. RJ got second and Koen ended up on the third place.
The next ones to go were the Freestyle Mountainbikers. Martin Knorr got first on his friends bike, because his bike broke down, but as organiser of this event he only joined for bonus (unofficially) the prizes went to 1- Ritchie Steegers, 2-Lennard, 3- Dao de Kerk from Belgium.

After a small break it was time for the PRO BMX Class to battle. Just as at the other classes this was also a Knock Out Battle.
The level was extremely high, there were tricks like 540 to fakies out of banks, many 360 combinations like truckdrivers, 360whips, and 360footjamwhips, and flips.
The riders battled until there were 3 riders left: Jack Nierath, Channon Balorian, and Jonathan Jansen. Channon Balorian won the contest with doing tricks including big flairs. Jack Nierath got second with doing stuff like a big 180 gap over a rail to 2m/6ft drop. Jonathan Jansen got third with a lot of combinations between tuck no handers, barspins and 360s.
DMR UK team at the middenberm dirts in holland
As you know the guys from DMR UK (Olly Wilkins, Sam Reynolds, Ray Samson and Blake Samson) came to This Is Trash in The Hague, Holland. This is the vid of them and a couple of dutchies riding the Middenberm Dirts!
the night before 'this is trash'
The night before This Is Trash. The weather was really fucked up so we (the DMR-bikes UK Team, SBG-unit from Austria and me) went to this skatepark underneath a highway. We had 2 long exhausting days of riding before this, so this was just a relaxing chill session :)
This is trash results!
Wow, the turnout was really huge! We had over 80 riders this day, and more than 90% of them was on a mtb!!!!!!
We had no AM class because the AM's didn't want to ride a contest, but it went down really crazy at the PRO class!!!
The results:
DIRT:
1) Sam Reynold - UK - DMR Bikes - he was doing frontflips, 360 inverts and doubletailwhips without being able to pedal because of a broken hub
2) Blake Samson - UK - DMR Bikes - crazy flipwhips on the big dirt and more sickness
3) Roy Groenewegen - NL - Cove Bikes - for doing a trick I never saw before: no handed superman seatgrab, fully extended!!
PARK
1) Leo Combee - NL - Magura - for his crazy barspins
2) Walter Mayerhofer - AT - Dartmoor Bikes - sick barspins and tailwhips
3) Martin Knorr - NL - PlusSizeBMX - 360s/alleyoop tabletop/540

The promise
German pro park riders Hendrik Tafel, Marius Hoppensack and Jonas Berndt made a trip to skatepark The Promise in The Netherlands.
I've seen these guys riding in real last year and I can assure you that all their tricks are 100% dialled, so there are no landed-1-out-of-10-tries tricks in this one.
Enjoy!
Kevin Katinas
Kevin Katinas is probably Holland's best dirt rider.
I know this guy personally, he's a cool guy with some damn crazy dirt skills! He flips and flatspins every gap, no matter how big!
