Interbike Day 2

Day 2 at Interbike was such a great time. Got to meet up with a ton of companies and friends. SO much good stuff to see. CAn't believe we have only one day of mayhem to go. Ran into Jim C. from Sunday who showed me the 2012 lineup. They all look cool with most of the models having retro race car inspired graphics. Except of course the all orange Aaron Ross pro model. Check out more pics below as well as a full slideshow from the day...

Eastern in Poland

An Eastern Bikes crew made up of Leigh Ramsdell, Eric Holley and Brian Wizmerski log some ride time in Poland. So many killer spots in that country. Those giant pillar quarters have been photographed more than Katy Perry. They look insanely fun to ride. Make sure to watch to the end and see Eric's masterful save... More Mr. Holley below...

Kelly boosts a 30+ foot air!

Kelly Bolton hitting the Mega ramp quarterWhile at Woodward West we rode with a crew from Eastern Bikes including Kelly Bolton, Eric Holley, Adam Banton and Leigh Ramsdell. Such a great crew. A quick Mega Ramp sesh went down. Kelly may only be 4 feet above coping but that quarter is 27 feet tall from flat to coping! Leigh, Kelly and Eric were all hitting it. Leigh also talked him into rolling in on the quarter. Which was crazy. Check out a shot of Leigh below...

Karl Poynter for EZRA BMX

Karl (Eastern) gets all kinds of creative on a manual pad made of pallets. So cool! He is the first rider for a brand new company called EZRA BMX. In Karl's words, "EZRA's mission is to focus on high-quality, aesthetically pleasing parts that truly represent what BMX is about." Sounds good to me.

Non sequiter title goes here...

Gary Elliot with another sweet edit and this time not including a gun fight. But it does offer some of Gary's signature street riding this time around the midwest instead of his usual LA. Good stuff!

Gary Elliot rides Street

Some of these clips we have seen before some I don't remember. The matter of fact is that Gary is one of the most progressive street riders on a 26" bike. It helps to have LA as a canvas to run the streets. And yes his hood is uber sketchy...

2011 Eastern MTB Flipbook

Check out the 2011 line of 26" product from Eastern Bikes. Its nice to see a full catalog from these guys. The catalog includes bmx cross over product as well as some new 26 specific items. Hell yeah brother...

Some shots from Interbike...

Here are a few shots from day 1 of Interbike. We shot video with a bunch of companies today. So stay tuned for more  coverage. Thanks to everyone we met and hung out with today. Much more to come.

Product Review: eastern black betty

That's right! BMX brand Eastern Bikes also makes a full line of 24-26" PlusSizeBMX bikes. Eastern offers five completes and the Black Betty as a frame only. The Black Betty is the flagship of the line. Both Nick Soloninka and I have been on Black Betty's for a while. (Nick just switched to a 2010 Eastern Night Train) Both of us have been very happy with the Black Betty. I ride mostly street and park where as Nick rides a lot of dirt in between park sessions. The Black Betty (and the Night Train for that matter) is equally at home on all terrain. I run an S&M Pitchfork which steepens the head angle slightly. Which makes the bike even more reactive without being sketchy. Nick is running an 80mm Rock Shox argyle fork. The Black Betty runs well with either fork setup. Some of Easterns BMX details carry over to the Black Betty as well. You will find the big 'E" cutout on the headtube as well as the integrated seat post clamp. The Black Betty is a great option for any PlusSizeBMX rider looking for an upgrade. To get your hands on one contact your local Eastern Bikes dealer. If you want to get more info on the Black Betty and all of Eastern's 24-26" completes click on their logo below.
