Bike Check: Tim Gooden's DMR Bolt
Tim Gooden's 2011 DMR BoltPSBMX team rider Tim Gooden built himself a brand new DMR Bolt just a couple days before competing at Ranchstyle. Tim was stoked to be on it. Having a full squishy bike was definitely a plus on the course. Next up you will be able to see Tim rockin' his Bolt at the Teva Games in Vail. Look below for a full rundown of Tim's build and more pics...
Product Review: DMR Wingbar
Cromoly MTB bars seem to go one of two ways. They are either way overbuilt, weigh a ton and are stiff as hell or offer thin wall construction (or various butted tubing) which make them light but super flexy. The DMR Wingbars seem to fit in the middle of the two extremes. The Wingbar offers 5 butted spots throughout the bar. This keeps them light (1300grams/2.8lbs for 3") for cromoly bars. But this does not make the bar too flexy. They have a little give; which is great on the wrists. Especially if you run a rigid fork. More often then not when people try out my bike I get questions about the bars. They just seem to feel right for a lot of people. Wingbars in 3" are a great choice for park and street riding. They also offer a 1.5" rise for more of a DJ option. If you need a new set of bars for 2011 go check out the DMR Wingbars. Find info on how to find yourself a pair below.
Look below for full specs and a video on the DMR Wingbar...

Halo and Gusset have the goods...
Just received a box of fun stuff from Halo and Gusset. Both brands come to us from the UK. We have some of the Halo Twin Rail tires that we will be testing. This tire has two raised rails to limit rolling resistance and comes in several sizes and colors. (Including a very cool old school gumwall) From Gusset we will be trying out the half link Slink chain and some Bastard grips. If you live in the US your local shop can get Halo and Gusset from BTI ( www.bti-usa.com ) Check out each brands webber for other countries... www.halorims.com & www.gusset.com
2010 Interbike: DMR

Tons of new stuff was available to checkout in the DMR booth. The one piece that received a ton of attention was the DMR Bolt. The Bolt is a 125mm travel cromoly frame. The rear suspension design is built around a concentric bottom bracket pivot. Which means that you can run the Bolt single speed or geared. Olly Wilkins has been testing the Bolt and loves it. And If it works for him it will work for you. The Bolt is designed for slopestyle but would be eqaully fun ripping some flowy trails. Also on display was the new Reptoid frame. The Reptoid is designed as an entry level frame in the DMR line. The Reptoid is also available as a complete with a couple different spec lists. They also were showing off the new Vault pedal. The Vault is their new top of the line pedal. This new model is lighter and thinner then the classic DMR v12 pedal. The Vault offers a dual concave design and adjustable pins to keep your foot right where you want it. The spindle spins on a bushing on the crank side and sealed bearings on the outside. The option of a Ti spindle (340grams) will also be offered. You can see the fullline of DMR goodies at www.dmrbikes.com Tell your local shop that they can get DMR through BTI, Dirtec Direct or QBP in the US and at Norco in Canada. Check the website for other countries. Don't miss some closeup pics and more after the jump...Click Below (pics by Patrick Armstrong)
2010 Interbike: BLACK MARKET

Carter Holland and the BLK MRKT crew came to Interbike with some great additions to their line. One killer addition was the Contraband 24" complete. Thats the all black beauty on the top right. The Contraband features genuine BLK MRKT components throughout. Do you want some color and bling? BLK MRKT has added a bunch of color options to their components. They also showed two builds of the popular Killswitch. The green one pictured above was a sick slopestyle/dj set up. The second build had a geared All mountain setup. (Check the rest of the post for the pic of that one) Looking at it you could tell how much fun it would be to hit some trails with. Those builds showed how flexible of a frame the Killswitch is. BLK MRKT also had two new frame offerings at the show. The first was the Roam a 5.7" travel Hammerlink All Mtn frame. The Roam is still in prototype stage but is looking sick. The second was the new Fixie frame called the NSF. And to all of you haters out there check the messenger ID below of the "kid" who inspired the NSF. They plan on having the NSF available early in 2011. Check out www.blackmarketbikes.com for more info. Does your local bike shop not have BLK MRKT? Then tell them to contact Dirtec Direct at 661-284-2807 or you can shop online for BLK MRKT at www.plussizebmxstore.com. More pics after the jump...
Interbike 2010: DIRTEC
Dirtec is a new brand from the guys behind Atomlab. If you need some cool parts and are on a budget Dirtec is for you. Although the Dirtec line is not as fancy as others it is still top quality. All the parts look strong and ready to ride. Most budget lines look pretty boring. But the Dirtec stuff is all about color. If you want your local shop to start stocking Dirtec have them contact Chris@dirtecdirect.com. pics by Patrick Armstrong

S and M 26" Pitchfork Review
Anyone who has ever ridden a 20" bike knows of the S&M Pitchfork. This fork is THE fork for BMX and has been for quite a while. And now they offer a 26" version of this classic fork. I have been running this fork for a couple months and have had no problems. And I ABUSE this fork. I do alot of toothpick grinds on the leg and dropouts. Which they handle without any sign of flinching. The legs of the fork are 4q baked for strength and butted for weight savings. And at only 2.49 lbs (with an uncut steerer) the fork is no anchor. Currently I have the fork on an Eastern Black Betty frame with 3" Spank Tweet bars. The bar height definitely drops when you switch to a rigid fork. This was something that is easy to overcome with ride time. The few BMXers that have taken a spin on my bike love how it feels. Only MTB guys who run bigger forks mind the bar height. I would easily recommend this fork to anyone looking for a rigid fork. It is really strong and light. Contact your local S and M dealer to get your own set. If you do not know where your local dealer is go to www.sandmbikes.com to find out. I put together a short edit with the details of the fork as well as a couple quick riding clips. Enjoy...Cheers...

New Stem on the way from Theory Components
Theory is a company out of Ogden, Utah. Here is a screen capture of their new stem. The MTB stem will have a zero rise, 40mm length and space for a 25.4 handlebar. The stem will also be available for your 20" bike. The PlusSizeBMX team will be doing the testing of the prototypes very soon. I will keep everyone updated on availability.

PRODUCT: S&M 26" Pitchfork!!!
S&M unveiled this goodie earlier this year. I finally got my hands on one!!! The pitchfork is a legendary part in the 20" world. Sooo many people run this fork. The 26" version is the same awesome fork that your friends run on 20". The legs are just longer to accomodate the plus size wheel. I have been on this fork a couple of weeks and it rocks. I will be producing a full video test soon. But you probably should just go buy one now!!!
