Colorado State Slopestyle Championship's
Nick Soloninka X-in off of a whale's TailOn August 28th at Valmont Bike Park in Boulder we crowned our first State Slopestyle Champion. Huge props to Brian and everyone who put this together and everyone at Boulder BMA. We ended up with over 30 in Mens and one female rider. Riders came from across the state; including PSBMX team member DJ Brandt from Grand Junction. We ran one open class which included all ages and wheelsizes. A lot of standout riders were getting some nice riding done...
(Thanks to Seth Beckton for the pics)

Our youngest competitor was Braeden Smith who was only 5 years old. He also walked away with the worst crash award. He took a bad tumble off the first drop in run #1 but came back like a champ in runs 2 and 3.

Nick Soloninka was throwing tricks and smiling from top to bottom.

Andy Holloway 3'd in then out of the whale tail. So sick!

Brain Banghart was clicking tricks off of everything with perfect precision.

Clayton Shank was killing practice by flipping up into the whale tail but had some bad luck in his runs.

DJ Brandt was throwing some mad style as well as some big tricks which earned him 5th on the podium.

Aj Anaya straight up murdered the course. Huge tuck 3 into the whale, Double whips and this Frontie on the last jump of the course. No one doubted who had won!

1st - AJ Anaya (S&M, Yellow Designs) 2nd - Brian Banghart (Yellow Designs) 3rd - Ryan Zabienski 4th - Kelsy Hoog (PSBMX, Deco, Profile) 5th - DJ Brandt (PSBMX, Grassroots Cycles)
